Heavy/Technical Specialty Team

This team has the responsibility to provide a nucleus of highly-trained special rescue personnel to mitigate the following types of situations in a safe and organized manner:

• Any heavy transportation accident, tractor-trailer, farm or any other situation requiring expertise and/or equipment beyond the scope of a basic rescue company.

• Any situation where a victim is in a confined space as defined by OSHA.

• Any situation in which a patient is trapped, buried or experiencing a medical emergency in a trench or excavation.

• Any situations involving victims trapped in the collapse of a structure.
